Privacy Policy.
Last updated 2026-04-19. What we collect, why, where it lives, what control you have. Written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect.
Account: phone number, name, optional email, optional avatar.
Service: addresses, location coordinates (only when you book or open the live map), service preferences, booking history, ratings & reviews you leave.
Device: model, OS, app version, IP, approximate location for fraud prevention.
Identity (Pros only): DigiLocker-verified KYC documents — ID number, name, photo, address — provided by the Government of India's DigiLocker. We store hashes and verification status, not raw documents, beyond what's required for audit.

Why we collect it.
To provide the service: routing dispatch, payments, support, dispute resolution.
To verify trust: KYC and Skill Verification on the Pro side; account-takeover protection on the Customer side.
To improve the product: aggregated, anonymised analytics on dispatch quality, search patterns, conversion funnels.
Legal & tax: GST filings, statutory record-keeping under Indian law.

Where it lives.
All HelpRush data is stored in India. Our servers are hosted on DigitalOcean's Bangalore region. Backups are encrypted and retained for 30 days.
We do not transfer your personal data outside India without your consent.

Who we share it with.
With the Pro you book: name, address, phone, job details — required to deliver the service.
With trusted vendors who power the platform: MSG91 (SMS OTP), Resend (transactional email), DigiLocker (KYC), our payments processor, our analytics provider. They process data on our behalf, under written contracts, only for the purposes stated here.
With law enforcement: only when compelled by valid Indian legal process.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it to retarget you on third-party ad networks.

What you can do.
Access, correct, or delete your data: from the app's Settings → Privacy, or by emailing hello@helprush.in. We respond within 7 working days.
Withdraw consent: same channels. Withdrawing consent that's required to provide the service may close your account.
Object to processing or request data portability under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: email hello@helprush.in.
If we get it wrong, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

How long we keep it.
Account & job data: until you delete the account, or 7 years (whichever is later) — Indian tax law requires the longer retention.
KYC documents (Pros): until 7 years after account closure.
Logs & telemetry: 90 days.
Anonymised aggregates: indefinitely.

Children.
HelpRush is not intended for users under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, email hello@helprush.in and we'll delete it.

Cookies and similar tech.
On the website, we set: a session cookie after sign-in (httpOnly, sameSite=lax), a non-essential analytics cookie (Plausible — first-party, no cross-site tracking), and a feature-flag cookie.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or fingerprinting.

Changes.
Material changes get an in-product notice. The 'Last updated' date tracks every revision.

Grievance officer.
Per IT Rules, 2021: grievance officer is reachable at hello@helprush.in. Acknowledgement within 48 hours; resolution within 30 days.
